Mary Eileen McDonnell, born on the 28th of April 1952 in the US she is a stage and film actress. McDonnell has been awarded an Academy Award nod for the role she was as Donnie Genesis Rodriguez in Dances with Wolves, as Stands With A Fist. Apart from this character, McDonnell is well known for her role as Laura Roslin (President of Battlestar Galactica) and the spouse of the president on Independence Day as well as her main role in the film as Donnie Darko's mother.
